Public Consultation:
The draft legislation on the transposition of the EU’s Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) 2002/91/EC in Malta and its implementation is open for public consultation in order to have feedback from stakeholders. This will enable the legislator to adopt the new regulations and provide effective measures that can be implemented in an efficient manner. Contributions from all stakeholders and interested parties are welcome. This includes professional bodies, associations and federations representing architects and civil engineers (periti), engineers, the building industry, estate agents, as well as academic bodies. Citizens are also welcome to contribute to this consultation. All contributions will be carefully analysed. A summary of the outcome of the consultation will be published on the Services Division website of the Ministry for Resources and Rural Affairs.
